Dark clouds hover around India after a loss against New Zealand by 8 wickets.

New Zealand is becoming a dark cloud for the Indian team this year. Defeating men in blue in every tournament matches from test cricket to T-20. It seems that kiwis have understood the weakness of Kohli’s company from top to bottom. Indians need to break this taboo of losing to New Zealand like a phoenix to soar high in the sky.

The first lowest total of India was in 2016 against New Zealand in Nagpur scoring 79 not crossing the psychological mark of 100 also. Yesterday was the second-lowest total 110 for 7 wickets in Dubai stadium. And yesterday also it was against the same team.

India losing two important matches against Pakistan and New Zealand has made their positions to the semi-finals paradoxical. Now they have to win almost all the matches with a high run rate to survive for the semi-finals. Pakistan is already leading the leaderboard by winning all the matches with the highest run rate and points while New Zealand grabbing the second position on the board. Henceforth, it is troublesome for India to classify their position for semis.

It was a bad day for Kohli. Firstly, he lost the toss when he desperately needs to bat in the second half as the first half of the innings the pitch surface was good for bowlers. Secondly his opening batsman Surya Kumar Yadav was injured so he was replaced by Ishan Kishan. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar was replaced by Shardul Kumar. While Kane Williamson boys one change was made Adam Milne was replaced by Tim Siefert.

T20 World Cup: Trent Boult's three, birthday boy Ish Sodhi help New Zealand stifle India

Indian Innings

Seeing KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan on the crease padded up for the opening was very surprising for Indian cricket lovers as their eyes were waiting to see Rohit Sharma performing.

Trent Boult with his thundering performance along with Ish Sodhi managed to take 5 wickets granting only 37 runs in 8 overs. Trent Boult took 3 wickets giving 20 runs while Sodhi took 2 wickets for 17 runs. That is what is called the good bowling spell that turned the match quest. While Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer batsman for India scoring 26 runs unbeaten till the last overs. Rohit Sharma was given another lifeline when he was dropped at 3 runs by Milne at fine leg. Again, this time Indian opening batsman disappointed the fans in the powerplay overs by just scoring 35 runs with 2 wickets. Owing to immense pressure on Rohit for not performing consistently lost his control on the bat and gave his wicket to Sodhi by a spectacular catch to Guptill. Sodhi shattered another pillar of India the skipper himself again Boult coming into the picture by catching the ball at the long-on. The Boult and Sodhi together somehow or the other were the keyholes to make New Zealand win the match. India summing up the total to 110 at 7 wickets. The batsman was trying to collect the runs as a bird trying to collect pebbles from the ground.

New Zealand Innings.

Though the total was not all promising for blackcaps men. It was like a piece of cake for the kiwis. Martin Guptill and Mitchell were on the field for the easy chase. For some time Bumrah was on the nerve of Mitchell as he took time to understand his line and length. Bumrah gives a slight relief by taking the first wicket of Martin Guptill at 20. Jadeja bowled the last over of the powerplay. But what a finish to powerplay overs by Mitchell with three boundaries and a six making the probability of winning to 70 percent scoring 44 for 1 wicket.

In the 13th over Daryn Mitchell parted the field by giving his wicket to Bumrah just 1 run away from his half-century out of 35 deliveries. Kiwis finished the match in 14.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand and continue the winning dabble against India since 2003 in the ICC tournament.

Ish Sodhi, a spinner was announced the Man of the match by his spectacular bowling tactics.
