India is trying hard to take an unassailable lead in the five match test series against England.
India v/s England test series, 1st Day Highlights: England was dominating the proceedings on the first day of the third test. England reached 120 without loosing any wicket at the end of the day's play. At the start of the play openers, Rory Burns ( 52 not out) and Haseeb Hameed (60 not out) remained unconquered at the pitch and took their team to the lead of 42 runs.
Earlier, the Indian team were dismissed for a 78 on the first day of the third test match. Craig Overton (3/14) and James Anderson (3/6) had dismantled India, especially Anderson who took the first three wickets of the game and dismissed the inform K L rahul, Pujara and the skipper Kohli. Sam Curran (2/21) and Ollie Robinson ( 2/16) took two each.
Virat Kohli, the Indian Captain, had won the toss and chose to bat first. Unfortunately, the batting figure is not that good. Only Ajinkya Rahane (18) and Rohit Sharma ( 19) reached a two-digit score, others were struggling. Last match's heroes Shami and Bumrah were both dismissed without scoring.
