T20 World Cup: India to face Pakistan; Australia, England in group of death

India and Pakistan fans! Get ready for the exciting match! As per the reports, After five years in the T20 International match, India and Pakistan will play against each other at the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The news was announced by the ICC ( The International Cricket Council).

As per the investigation, the tournament will be hosted by the popular Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17 to November 14.

Both the teams are placed in the same group, depending on their ranking basis of March 20, 2021. The remaining two teams in the group will be selected after the ICC T20 World Cup Round 1.

 India v/s Pakistan, head to head match in T20 previous World Cup’s

India  has enjoyed a  fantastic  5-0 superiority against its opponent, Pakistan, in almost all T20 World cup’s editions. The last T20 match played by both teams was in 2016 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. India played well in that game and emerged as a winner, and defeated Pakistan by six wickets.

 What is round 1 of the ICC T20 World Cup all about?

 As per the reports, Round 1 will include eight teams in which the automatic qualifiers will gain their place, i.e., Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, will play against the other six teams, who have booked their place while playing the event in 1019 at UAE.

Group A will be going to have Namibia, Ireland and the Netherlands that will join Sri Lanka. Group B will have Scotland, Oman and PNG, and Bangladesh.

 Groupings of Round 1

Group A: Ireland, Sri Lanka, Namibia and Netherlands.

Group B: Scotland, Papua, New Guinea, Bangladesh and Oman.

Group 2 will have the all-rounders champs India and 2009 winner New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan and two qualifiers from Round 1.

Sourav Ganguly, the president of BCCI, is delighted about Oman being an essential part of the T20 event.

He said- It is a piece of great news to get Oman in the World cup Frame while hosting the men’s T20 World Cup. It will help young players to get more interested in the game.
