Delhi got the fruitful start with balls in the hands of Ishant Sharma, who ended the first over as maiden. Delhi restricted Punjab to take off the innings by pacers bowling at the correct length.

Their intention was very to build up pressure on the batsmen and forcing them to commit a mistake. They were successful with their intentions as they got their first breakthrough in 4th over by Rabada in the form of Prabhsimran.

Rabada trapped Chris Gayle with unplayable full toss delivery after getting hit over the ropes by the West Indian. Punjab was at 39-2 after 6 overs.

Punjab crawls in the middle.

After two early wickets, Punjab was on the back foot and was unable to take off from there. Mayank got accompanied by Dawid Malan, at last, got a chance to appear on the field.

But none of them could smash big hits and be constrained by the spin duo of Delhi, Axar, and Lalit Yadav. They were successful in restricting Punjab’s score at 63-2 after 10 overs.

In the 12th over, Dawid Malan broke this silence and hit a maximum and boundary off Ishant Sharma. But soon, he was dismissed by Axar Patel on 26(26) in 14th over. In the same over, Deepak Hooda was also run out, scoring just a single run.

Mayank thought of accelerating his batting, and he completed fifty with a boundary against Ishant Sharma.
