After tonight's match against Punjab kings, MS Dhoni the skipper of Chennai Super Kings was in a problem. 

According to the new rules of IPL, both teams are required to complete an IPL inning in 90 minutes, containing two strategic intervals of two and a half minutes each. Because of the rule, the over rate has to be 14.1 overs per hour

As a regulation to regulate the timings of a match, earlier the 20th over was to start on or before the 90th minute but the 20th over in each innings is now included in 90 minutes. The minimum over rate to be obtained in IPL Matches should  be per hour 14.11 overs (avoiding the interval time taken by ),” a BCCI 

MS Dhoni receive the fine

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was fined INR 12 lakh for the Code of Conduct Breach after a slow-over rate when the opener of  CSK's season against Delhi . But now, MS Dhoni has to be careful in the order to prevent by getting banned for two or four games of IPL

Though the fine for the offence stays consistent which indicates a 2nd offence can see MS Dhoni as the CSK skipper will face a 24 lakh fine, while the team members of Chennai Super Kings should be INR 6 lakh fined or each member fined 25% of the match fee. The 3rd offence can result in a fine of 30 lakh INR, and also one match will be banned for the captain and the fine of 12 lakh INR or including the captain & each member of the team will be fined of the  50% match's fee.

The captain could face a harsh fine as the decision of ban will be decided by the match's referee who will take the final call.

However, about the previous match MS Dhoni had a normal day with the bat as politely as he scored a 2 ball duck and  comprehend lost their opening encounter of IPL 2021
