Really feel for #AmbatiRayudu. Always gave it everything he had but sometimes was left holding the wrong cards. So hope he continues in domestic white ball cricket so that we can see his wholehearted style of play in the #IPL. This is an emotional moment but there is a tomorrow

Lately, Indan cricket fans have been confronted by a  fresh and shocking announcement, made by Ambati Rayudu on Wednesday as he formally retired from all forms of international cricket. Though official word on his reason for his retirement is not known yet.

However, fans will see him continue batting in the Indian Premier League. Also, almost a year earlier Rayudu had taken retirement from first-class cricket.

Initially, he was excluded from the Indian cricket team for the World Cup. He was not preferred to be in the the15-member squad and was replaced by Vijay Shankar who is an all-rounder.

According to the chief selector MSK Prasad, Shankar can be a better option because he is an all-rounder, and this is the reason why they picked Shankar in place of Rayudu.

Perhaps over the course of World Cup time, the injury of opener Shikhar Dhawan, and, the player with three-dimensional qualities, Vijay Shankar created new spots. Thus, there was a hope that the selectors might pick Rayudu to fill the void. Also, his chances seem to be more evident as he was in the standby list for the world cup.

However, the selectors had a completely different decision. They decided to send Rishabh Pant in place of Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal was the replacement of Vijay Shankar. These can be one of the reasons behind the immediate retirement announcement of Ambati Rayudu, but they are just mere speculations.
